LA VIZCAÍNA EL RAPOLAO

Información sobre este vino:

La Vizcaína El Rapolao is a red wine from the winery La Vizcaína de Vinos, a project by Raúl Pérez and César Márquez in El Bierzo, which speaks with the silent authority of great single-vineyard wines. Its character is not that of an obvious fruit or that of an accommodating wood, but rather that of a landscape translated into wine: a fine, serious, and deeply territorial expression, with the natural aristocracy of those who don’t need to raise their voice to impose themselves.

In its style, this red wine fits clearly within a philosophy of identity and precision. Its profile suggests a measured aging, more focused on preserving the tension and purity of the origin than on covering the wine with superfluous trappings. The result is a red wine with a refined aura, with a silky texture and an energy reminiscent of a stone polished by time: sober, elegant, and with a depth that reveals itself little by little.

On the palate, it shows an almost musical harmony, where freshness, fineness, and tannic presence intertwine naturally. There’s a sense of wine with a broad horizon—fine but firm on the approach—with complexity that doesn’t try to dazzle immediately, but instead seduces in layers, like a great fabric of dark silk.

It comes from the El Rapolao area, in Valtuille de Abajo, in Bierzo, a region of cool altitude and marked personality, where the vine expresses a more tense and deeper profile. The historic plots and the orientation of the terroir favor slow ripening and a very clear reading of the landscape.
