Finca Calvestra
Información sobre este vino:
Finca Calvestra is a white wine from Bodega Mustiguillo that moves with the discreet elegance of someone who doesn't need to raise their voice to make themselves heard. Its identity is born in the Vino de Pago El Terrerazo, and it is articulated around the Merseguera variety, a grape almost rescued from silence by the patient work of the house. It is a white wine of character Reserva/Crianza on lees, with a refined, Mediterranean and deeply gastronomic personality.
In its most noble expression, Finca Calvestra suggests the golden light of an afternoon on limestone: a white wine with a broad breath, silky texture and an inner tension that avoids softness. Mustiguillo works it with an almost artisanal sensitivity, seeking that the wine is not a simple portrait of fruit, but a conversation between the vineyard, the acacia barrel and the high-altitude landscape.
In the glass it comes across as sophisticated, creamy and precise, the kind of wine that seems built with a goldsmith's ruler and, at the same time, with a poet's intuition. Its time on lees gives it volume and an enveloping caress, while the freshness keeps everything in its place with an almost aristocratic composure. It is a white with depth, with relief, with that rare ability to seem broad without losing its bearing.
More than a wine to accompany, Finca Calvestra is a wine to elevate the table: it has that kind of sober distinction that makes you think of fine dining, of the exact detail and of the beauty of restraint. A high-altitude white, yes, but also one with a long view and mineral memory.
It comes from the Finca Calvestra estate in Requena, at around 900 meters above sea level, on calcareous soils with a silty-sandy texture. The vineyard is cultivated with a Mediterranean mountain vocation, in an environment of continental influence softened by the air and light of the area. The Merseguera variety is worked on old grafted Bobal vines, on an estate that has decisively contributed to restoring prestige to an almost forgotten grape. The result is a wine with the soul of the landscape and a high-altitude character.
