Clos Erasmus Laurel

Información sobre este vino:

Laurel is a red wine of Clos i Terrasses, the signature of Daphne Glorian in Priorat, which moves with the elegance of wines that don’t need to raise their voice to make an impression. Born as the sibling wine of Clos Erasmus, Laurel preserves that air of noble discretion: less monumental, but no less expressive; less severe, yet equally magnetic. Its style falls into the category of medium-aging, with a personality that suggests restrained maturity, a Mediterranean pulse, and flawless architecture.

In the glass, Laurel usually unfolds a luminous version of Priorat: precise red and black fruit, Mediterranean herbs, an almost ethereal floral echo, and that stony mineral character reminiscent of hot slate at sunset. It’s a red wine of aristocratic depth, with the silky touch of fine velvet and the tension of a rugged landscape turned into music. The winery Clos i Terrasses works here with a less opulent register than in its flagship wine, but with the same obsession with detail, purity, and balance.

Laurel seduces because it doesn’t chase an easy effect: it develops an enveloping complexity, with layers that open up little by little, like an expensive perfume that gets better as you breathe it in. Its character is refined—polished edges and a Mediterranean soul—establishing a very serious relationship between depth, freshness, and length. In short, it’s a wine of cellar and terroir, more suggestion than display, but with enough class to remain in your memory.

It comes from Priorat, a region of llicorella soils that leaves the wine with an unmistakable mineral fingerprint and an almost volcanic tension. The vineyard expresses the harsh and luminous character of the landscape, where Mediterranean heat and the poor soil force the grape to concentrate its essence with a discipline that is almost monastic.
