Viña Sastre Pesus
Información sobre este vino:
Viña Sastre Pesus is a high-expression red wine made by the historic Viña Sastre winery, located in the Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin, Spain. This wine is made from a selection of the best grapes from the plots the winery owns on the slopes of the Duero river, at an altitude of over 800 meters. The head-trained vines, more than 90 years old, root deeply in the clay-limestone soils, seeking to cling to the terroir to face with confidence the harshness of the continental climate.
The varietal composition of Viña Sastre Pesus is 85% Tinta del País, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot. The grapes are grown without the addition of mineral fertilizers, herbicides or insecticides, following artisanal practices that respect the natural balance of the environment. The harvest is manual, in 12 kg crates, with a double bunch selection, first in the vineyard and then in the winery on a selection table.
After fermentation, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in barrel and is aged for 18 months in new French oak, with four rackings. Production is limited, with approximately 2,000 bottles reaching the market, which gives this wine exceptional exclusivity and uniqueness.
In the glass, Viña Sastre Pesus presents a Bordeaux red color with violet hues, bright and attractive. On the nose, it is very powerful and complex, highlighting the ripeness of the grape with fruity aromas of plums and cherries, balsamic and spicy notes, and a mineral background that adds depth. On the palate, it is elegant, flavorful and very fruity, with a well-structured body and noble tannins that give it a gentle power. It is a great wine, a faithful exponent of the Ribera del Duero terroir, ideal to enjoy now and for many years to come.
Viña Sastre Pesus is a crianza red wine, with an alcohol content of 15%. It is recommended to serve between 14 and 16 degrees Celsius to fully appreciate its organoleptic qualities. It is ideal to accompany red meats, aged cheeses, roasted suckling lamb and stewed partridges.
Viña Sastre Pesus is a true reflection of the "terroir" of Ribera del Duero, capturing the essence of vineyards over 90 years old on clay-limestone soils at more than 800 meters in altitude.
