Tintilla Balbaína

Información sobre este vino:

Tintilla Balbaína is a red wine from Bodegas Luis Pérez that embodies, with an almost aristocratic elegance, the most Atlantic expression of the Balbaína estate in Cádiz. It is a long-aging red with no formal aging classification, yet its passage through oak barrels and tank gives it a calm, stately presence—the kind that doesn’t need to raise its voice to leave its mark. It is born from the variety Tintilla, with a small contribution of Palomino Fino in some productions, and it presents itself as a refined, saline, and deeply territorial interpretation of the Cádiz red.

In it, dark fruit, pepper, and salinity live together as if they were voices of the same well-mannered choir. There is something almost mineral, almost like wet stone and sea breeze, that elevates it above the obvious. It is not a crowd-pleasing wine: it has character, depth, and a very marked personality, but also a delicacy that makes it insinuating, precise, and long in the memory.

It comes from the Pago de Balbaína, in Jerez de la Frontera, within the Cádiz area. The albariza soils, especially barajuela and tosca cerrada, provide that calcareous, fresh and stony sensation that defines the wine's style. The vineyard enjoys a strong Atlantic influence, at an approximate altitude of 65 meters and an environment that favors tense, saline and highly defined wines. The plot and the climate seem to speak here with almost pedagogical clarity: the land does not adorn, it sculpts.
