Recaredo Turó d’en Mota

Información sobre este vino:

Recaredo Turó d’en Mota is a sparkling wine from the Recaredo winery, one of the most respected houses in Penedès, which works this cuvée as if it were a piece of goldsmithing rather than a simple bottle. It is a traditional method sparkling wine, dry in style, elegant and deeply territorial, whose name refers to a singular plot of barely 0.97 hectares planted in 1940 in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia. Its aging classification is long-aging, because here time is not rushed: it is cultivated, tamed and turned into texture.

The starring grape is Xarel·lo, a variety that in Recaredo's hands stops being simply Mediterranean to acquire an almost noble gravity, mineral and silent. Turó d’en Mota is, above all, a declaration of purity: a single vineyard, a single variety, a single vintage. That almost monastic precision gives rise to a wine of extraordinary depth, where tension and subtlety embrace each other with a very uncommon refinement.

In its style there is something of a landscape carved in limestone, of dry breeze and slow ripening under a contained light. It is a wine of great prestige, complex and of reserved character, which usually evolves with aromatic breadth, fineness of bubble and a sense of nobility that does not need to raise its voice to prevail. Recaredo turns patience into luxury here, and terroir into a way of thinking.

It comes from the historic Turó d'en Mota plot, planted in 1940 and located in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, in Alt Penedès, on a markedly chalky soil and under a Mediterranean microclimate of great character. The vineyard, low-yielding and traditionally trained, belongs to Recaredo and constitutes an extreme expression of origin: a unique, almost confidential vineyard, where the relief, the exposure, and the limestone write the character of the wine in indelible ink.
