Y d’Yquem

Información sobre este vino:

Y d’Yquem is a dry white wine from the prestigious Château d’Yquem estate, located in the Sauternes wine region, Bordeaux, France. This wine is made from Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc grapes meticulously selected, grown in vineyards renowned for producing some of the best wines in the world. The harvest is carried out manually, with multiple passes to select the grapes affected by noble rot, which adds distinctive complexity to the wine. Fermentation and aging are carried out with meticulous care, resulting in an exceptional white wine of outstanding quality and elegance.

The history of Y d’Yquem begins in 1959, the year in which it was produced in small quantities. Its production was intermittent until 2004, when it was decided to make a wine more in line with new trends, seeking greater freshness and clarity, and to regularize its annual production. Despite having between 6 and 8 grams of residual sugar, it tastes practically dry on the palate thanks to its exceptional acidity and magnificent freshness.

This wine is characterized by its complexity, concentration and sweetness, balanced by relatively high acidity. With proper care, a bottle can be kept for a century or more, and the fruity nuances gradually integrate with more complex secondary and tertiary flavors.

In the glass, Y d’Yquem presents a bright golden color with amber highlights, reflecting its elegance and complexity. On the nose, it offers an exuberant range of aromas of candied apricot, acacia honey, caramelized peach and orange marmalade, complemented by elegant floral notes of orange blossom. On the palate, it is opulent and silky, with a fresh acidity that perfectly balances its sweetness. The flavors unfold in layers, with a rich complexity that includes tropical fruits, caramel, vanilla and spices, leading to a long and rewarding finish.

This wine is ideal to accompany foie gras, blue cheeses, creamy desserts, or simply to enjoy it as an aperitif. It is recommended to serve it at a temperature between 10 and 12 degrees Celsius to fully appreciate its organoleptic qualities. With an alcohol content of 14% vol., Y d'Yquem offers a magnificent quality-price ratio, being an excellent choice for special occasions and for those looking for a unique wine experience.
